Hazeldale Elementary School Coming Together

The third of four prototype elementary schools in Beaverton, OR, is becoming a reality and is set to be completed by fall 2018. Neah-Kah-Nie Track & Field Crosses Finish Line

The new Neah-Kah-Nie High School track and field complex is now in use by the school district, offering a new and safe facility for student athletes to compete. This $2.5 million bond project addressed major site issues, including poor drainage and lighting, and created a new facility that boasts a synthetic turf athletic field and an upgrade from a 6-lane track to an 8-lane, allowing Neah-Kah-Nie High school to host district meets. Cameron McCarthy led the design team and was in charge of all site improvements. The project is located in Rockaway Beach, OR.

Sutherlin’s Ford’s Pond Takes Shape

Members from the community of Sutherlin recently met with Cameron McCarthy planners to get a glimpse at potential improvements to their local park. The 204-acre property was acquired by the City of Sutherlin in 2014 from Lone Rock Timber. Cameron McCarthy is leading the master planning and public outreach processes to transform the property into an engaging and active community park.

Excitement Builds as Rockridge Park Nears Completion

The board of the Bend Park and Recreation Department and Bend City officials took their annual tour of capital projects last week and there was an excited buzz about Cameron McCarthy designed Rockridge Park. In addition to Rockridge, Cameron McCarthy lead the planning and design efforts on the renovation of Bend’s Hillside Park, also in the last stretch of construction. Springfield Mill Race Path Opens to Public

Thursday, January 19th, saw the opening of the the newest portion of Willamalane Park and Recreation District’s mixed-use path. The new Mill Race path consists of three-miles of paved pathway for pedestrians and bicyclists, connecting the Booth Kelly Industrial site to Clearwater Park to the north. Cameron McCarthy led the planning and design efforts for this bond-funded project. For more information on the Path, check out the Register Guard article linked below.

Iowans and CM Join Forces in the Name of Preservation!

Cameron McCarthy was recently hired as a local planning consultant to assist the Iowa-based North Skunk River Greenbelt Association (NSRGA) in their mission to rehabilitate Springfield’s Hayden Bridge. The NSRGA focus extends beyond its home state of Iowa, and has reached over 30 bridges across the U.S. They hope to raise $100,000 for Hayden Bridge’s preservation

Beaverton Middle School Takes Shape

The Beaverton School District is bustling with activity as the first projects from 2014’s record breaking capital bond begin to take shape. Cameron McCarthy has provided Landscape Architecture design services for five of the School District’s bond projects. Beaverton Middle School is the first slated for completion.
