Roosevelt Middle School in Eugene’s 4J School District is a complete replacement of an existing 60-year-old school on the same 15+ acre site. The complete site development was led by Cameron McCarthy, included mitigation of 1-1/2 acres of wetlands, separated parent and bus drop-off areas, entry plaza, vehicle and bicycle parking, storm water treatment landscapes, multiple courtyards, school gardens, replaced tennis courts and three multi-use natural turf fields. The $27 million facility can serve a capacity of 600 plus students. Cameron McCarthy worked collaboratively with Eugene and Portland architects. The design opened fall of 2016.
