Cameron McCarthy provided conceptual design services for this engaging public space in Coos Bay’s downtown core. The resulting design options offered improvements to the existing corridor aimed at creating a magnetic space that could support both planned events and un-programmed public activities. Our firm coordinated stakeholder/public input sessions.
The project encompassed 2 blocks of street replacement and enhancement in Oregon State University’s historic Lower Campus. Enhancements included new setback sidewalks, raised crossings, bicycle lanes, landscaping and gateway monuments at the prominent Jefferson Street intersection.
