Cameron McCarthy has prepared both visioning and implementation documents for the purpose of enhancing the OSU brand and celebrating passage into primary and tertiary access points on campus. The first implemented project was the Jefferson Street gateway located at 15th Avenue. Completed in 2009, this improvement is a composition of brick columns with OSU emblems, ornamental lights, decorative fencing, and raised pedestrian crossing with special paving. A second completed project – finished in 2012 – is the 26th Avenue Portal. Located at the primary entry to Reser Stadium, it features a classic corner sign with brick accents, ornamental lighting, and landscape. In both cases our firm served as prime consultant in charge of design, bid/permit documents, cost estimation and construction administration. Future gateway improvements are planned, pending future development and funding.
