Cameron McCarthy provided full design services for all site improvements for the recent remodel of LCC’s Center Building. This included the re-imagining of the the adjacent underused plaza space. The large plaza is the heart of campus and is oriented to maximize views of the nearby foothills. It provides both large gathering opportunities and small, informal gathering spaces while encouraging pedestrian movement to numerous academic buildings that surround the plaza. The plaza uses a contemporary palette of finished concrete, rectangular pavers, reclaimed timber benches, and stainless steel cable rail to blend seamlessly with the updated Center Building.
