The Eugene Public Library project grew from a need of functional space and a community anchor. Space necessary to accommodate the nearly 4000 daily library visitors while providing a needed anchor for the downtown community. The numerous daily visitors help activate the downtown core while the classic building and site forms have provided the backdrop and example for continued re-development of the Eugene downtown district. Cameron McCarthy provided comprehensive design and implementation services for all site improvements at the library. Our design included a children’s courtyard, roof top view garden, urban streetscape, grading, special paving, irrigation, and planting.
