The role

At Cameron McCarthy, a Project Manager Landscape Architect holds a high level of responsibility and is positioned to advance into a senior-level role.  At the core, the job is to facilitate excellent design through a progressive, inclusive creative process.  The role will be best filled by a blend of sophisticated project management skills, a proven practitioner, an increasing capacity in design talent, and top tier client services.  A refined proficiency in ACAD, Civil3D, Microsoft 365, and Adobe Creative Cloud is essential to the job; additionally rendering and visual applications knowledge is desired.  Mastering of specifications and materials, and critical problem-solving skills are fundamental aptitudes and will serve the individual and the studio well.  The person in the role will be a curious-minded individual who is equipped to facilitate team collaboration and production efforts.  This person will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy, high-performing environment.  

This is a full-time (40 hr / week) position with potential overtime demands.    

Job duties and responsibilities  

  • Manage, direct, and run projects from kick-off to completion  
  • Coordinate consultants  
  • Develop and craft design solutions that meet the expectations of the client
  • Provide client services and manage client expectations
  • Manage and run project budgets  
  • Report to principal-in-charge
  • Direct support staff  
  • Deliver construction documentation packages  
  • Develop cost estimates  
  • Perform and report on construction administration  
  • Adhere to best practices within the profession of landscape architecture  
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of local land use codes
